Pulse of the Global Islamic Economy

Shawwal 12, 1446 AH

Assalamualaikum,

Eid Mubarak! As we celebrate the end of Ramadan and the joyous occasion of Eid al-Fitr, we hope your celebrations were filled with blissful moments with family and loved ones. Let us also spare a moment and pray for our brothers and sisters in Gaza and hope the aftermath of the holy month brings peace and security into their lives.

On that note, Canada’s halal food sector shows potential, driven by a larger Muslim population and increased interest in ethically sourced products. However, the absence of a single regulating authority has led to confusion around certification standards, undermining consumer trust.
