The year 2023 has marked a decade to the inception of the State of the Global Islamic Economy (SGIE) Report, a global barometer to measure the evolution and growth of the halal ethical economy.

Yes, it has been a good ten years. And yes, safe is to say, the world has changed since then. There is much to reflect on and learn from the past decade’s halal ethical economy’s developments and its peaks and troughs.

But there is no denying the growth of this space, with the Islamic economy rising from an estimated $1.62 trillion consumer spending market in 2012, to $2.29 trillion in 2022.
